About Business Process Council (BPC)

The Business Process Council is a non-profit platform for industry to collaborate and share their business process knowledge. The Council plans to educate and train individuals on best practices across industrial & business segments. This not-for-profit organization is registered under Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956 in Mumbai, India.
The Council has been formed with a
mission to collect, produce, and enhance a common body of knowledge of Business Processes; and with it, to assist Industry to achieve productivity faster, and to assist Professionals to boost career prospects.

The Objectives of the Council

The objectives of the council are:

·       To evolve common global standards and best practices in business processes amongst practitioners and industry.

·       To facilitate practitioners to quickly learn and refer to this body of knowledge thereby enhancing their skill sets and value to the industry.

·       To facilitate industry to use this body of knowledge to implement these business processes and/or validate and/or compare their business processes.

·       To facilitate the solution providers to use this body of knowledge to develop and/or validate their solutions.

·       To facilitate the consultants to use this body of knowledge to enhance their team’s skill sets, demonstrate higher value to their prospects and clients, and provide better services.

·       To facilitate students to learn Business Processes before they join the industry, thereby enhancing their value in the job market; and correspondingly provide industry with a pool of certified resources which will be productive faster.

·       To facilitate academicians and educational institutions to use this body of knowledge to teach their students what industry needs thereby adding value to the passing-out student as well as increasing the institutions prestige.

It is the vision of the Council that a - certification would be sought after by students and professionals, and be stipulated as a desired qualification by industry.

Activities of the BPC
1.Business Process Reference
A Wiki-style reference of business processes with best practices, case studies, news and reference models.Blog where designated members can comment on various topics related to business processes. A blog not only contains original information created by authors, but can also contain links to various articles written on other sites, with expert comments written by the authors. All members can post their comments on every blog entry, which can be moderated before being displayed.
Discussion Forum / Mailing list, which allows members to post queries that other members or moderators can answer.

2. Events
Offline mixers are improvised events where members from a particular locality can meet without formal organization. Discussions typically involve sharing individual experiences & get feedback. Interesting highlights can then be reported back on the site for the benefit of other members.
Formal confernences where process & industry specialist are invited to share their views & experiences on selected industry segments. Educational partners such as management institutes etc are invited to partner in these events. This ensure involovement of growing talent with the industry.
E-Conferences / Podcasts are online events where members participate over the Internet, with voice, chat or email. 
3. Members Directory
The council is compiling a directory of it’s members - both Individual as well as Corporate.
4. Jobs and Career Planning 

The council plans to facilitate for career planning, career advising & mentoring services.

5. Software, Tools and Free Services

The Council will facilitate members to post free software tools for other members to use, which could be simple spreadsheets, evaluation versions, or open source or free software tools. Members can also offer free services to other members such as speaking assignments, consulting or advisory services and others.

6. Associated Organization and Partners
Cross promotion of membership between the council and associated organizations by arranging for special membership rates for cross-membership both ways. Cross promotion of events of associated organizations. Specail educational membership for students of associated educational institutions.
